Painting, sculpture, digital and film photography and graphic design are just some of the exciting things you can learn and do as a Simpson art major. Students majoring in visual arts have an opportunity to develop their creativity through classroom work, studio time, exhibitions, visiting artists and internships. Specializations are offered in drawing, painting, pottery, photography, art education and graphic design. These are capped by a personalized senior project and art show prior to graduation.

"In the Simpson College Art Department students receive individual instruction from art instructors who are also professional artists. All instructors who teach fine arts and graphic design, work professionally within the field they teach. Our course curriculum is designed to provide students with technical instruction that they can build on in defining a personal artistic voice. As a whole, the Simpson Art Department strikes a good balance between rigorous, technical instruction and artistic freedom."
